Field Technician

A position for a Field Technician is currently available at Paradigm Network Solutions Inc. The individual must possess a strong technical background and be a Certified NetWare Engineer or a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for at least three years. As well, the applicant should be highly experienced in dealing with customers and be able to handle the day-to-day activities of managing an account. Excellent interpersonal skills and troubleshooting experience are required.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

• Pre-sales consultation on Solutions with customers
• Pre-sales support including development of technical reports,   demonstrations, technology centre support
• Customer Presentations as required as part of pre-sales consultation
• Must be able to write Customer Proposals as required
• Must be able to provide Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and pricing   on projects
• Act as Lead if required on complex network installation (LAN/WAN),   upgrade and migration projects
• Perform complex local and wide area networking projects
• Plan and lead network project installations and upgrades
• Assist other technicians in resolving complex network hardware and   software issues

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• College or University education in Electronics or Computer Science
• Experience with Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Windows   2000 Server family (i.e. Advanced, Data Centre and Active Directory)
• Certification on two (2) current network operating systems or equivalent   under LAN/WAN technologies (such as Microsoft MCSE 2000, Novell   CNE, Cisco)
• Proven ability to perform server and NOS installations in a production   environment
• Over three (3) years of related job experience with a technology   services company preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A sense of urgency to complete tasks and assignments
• Ability to define and document practices and procedures consistently   and accurately
• Superior time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Solid business presentation skills

Technical Project Manager

A position for a Technical Project Manager is currently available at Paradigm Network Solutions Inc. Along with a strong technical background the candidate must have superior analytical and critical-thinking skills accompanied with the ability to grasp complex problems and transform them into clear simple solutions.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and manage projects ranging from small scale assessment and   design projects to complex infrastructure design and deployment
  projects
• Manage and document project templates and methodologies
• Construct comprehensive documentation including statement of work   and project charter documentation outlining project scope, project   success criteria, specific deliverables, roles and responsibilities of each   team member
• Manage project scope and handle scope change requests using   appropriate documentation.
• Work with project team members to create comprehensive and detailed   project plans
• Engage, hire, and manage resources as required for the successful   execution of solutions
• Meet regularly with the team to follow up on tasks, deliverables and
  issues
• Communicate status to the client via written reports and meetings
• Track project plan to baseline against time and budget constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS

Application Developer

Assist our clients in defining and developing business applications. A minimum of three years experience in client/server application development including one year employed as a programmer is required. The successful candidate of this position will also have experience acting in a consulting capacity and a general knowledge of a wide range of technologies. Strong communications skills and an interest in both the business and technical aspects of application development are a must. Experience with SQL and relational database systems would be an asset.
